As you may alreaky know, we’re just over a month away from the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby at the iconic Churchill Downs and we’re starting to get a glimpse of what’s to come. If you’r into races, now is definitely the time to bet on Kentucky derby.
There are only four races remaining in the second leg of the Road to the Kentucky Derby Championship Series.  The next race on the schedule is the Wood Memorial in New York. Verrazano is the current favorite for the Derby and also for this grade 1 showdown.
Party time in your living room
My mother always says that the Kentucky Derby is every bit as exciting from our living room. After all, we all have a big-screen TV with surround sound. I usually cranke the volume up, you could hear the announcer call the races from two houses over. Definitely not funny to my neighbours. Did you know that the fine people of Churchill Downs boast that julep slingers sell more than 120,000 of the minty mixed drink during Derby weekend. That’s more than 10,000 bottles of bourbon, 1,000 pounds of fresh mint and 60,000 pounds of ice…!
